A Dangerous Thing: The Hubris of Knowing

How believing we know what we are talking about may be unproductive, restrictive and even dangerous.

About this event

The first lecture of the series focuses on Alexander Pope's famous sentiment that a little learning is a dangerous thing. Over the 90 minute talk, Jym Brown will explore the basic philosophical principles behind intellectual humility and how our hubris of 'knowing' may be rather detrimental in more ways than one.

From business to education, from science to sport, the content will pose interesting questions and spark lively debate. How much do you really know? How much does that mentality hold you back from knowing more?

Please note - this event will be recorded and posted on youtube thereafter.
