Job description
This is a unique opportunity for a 3.5 year postdoctoral position working on two different high impact projects.
Hi-DRIVE is a European funded project that considers the impacts of Highly Automated Vehicles in a mass cross-border field operational test with many of Europe’s leading car manufacturers and automated vehicle researchers. This project will encompass about 70% of your time and will attract the core of your research efforts to propose and develop impact assessment methods (including data and simulation based) and to execute the traffic performance and safety impact assessment in consultation with other project partners and disseminate this highly relevant and state-of-the-art results to the scientific community.
TULIPS is also a European funded project focused on reducing the environmental impacts related to travel to, from and in the hub of Schiphol airport. One part of this project is focused on improving the traffic efficiency of travel to and from the airport in the wider region, in part through traffic management (traditional and C-ITS) to improve road traffic operations to reduce congestion, reduce waiting times and in turn reduce the emissions from vehicles. This project will encompass about 30% of your time in which you will play a supporting role to two PhD students and a coordinating role in regard to the execution of the project.
Both projects are leading projects in European research and the mix
of state-of-the-art research with coordinating and supervision tasks
should make it a highly attractive position for any upcoming academic or
researcher looking to further their career with a high impact position.
During the term of your contract you will have the opportunity to
explore and get involved in other academic tasks, such as education,
student supervision, proposal writing, etc, in line with your career
ambitions and abilities.
