The Research Group for Computational Interaction “COIN” (led by Prof. Dr. Luis Leiva), part of the Interdisciplinary Lab for Intelligent and Adaptive Systems (ILIAS), embedded in the Department of Computer Science (DCS) of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM), is looking for a Post-doctoral researcher in Brain Computer Interfaces.

The successful applicant will be integrated in the research group COIN, a recently established research group in the University of Luxembourg (UL). The researcher will be an employee of the UL. The applicant will contribute to the CHIST-ERA project “BANANA: Brainsourcing for Affective Attention Estimation”, an interdisciplinary project focused on Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs).

UL is the coordinating partner of project BANANA and is responsible for the following tasks:

• Design consistency estimation algorithms form crowdsourcing data, deriving spatio-temporal evolution of attention using agreement metrics.

• Design visualizations from brain-powered attentional data, and prepare annotations for such data.

• Develop generative models that can be used to produce affectively modulated visual information.

• Develop research prototypes, APIs, GUIs, and plugins for BCI devices for use in web browsers.

• Software testing and integrity of research prototypes.

• Conduct user evaluations of research prototypes.

Your Mission:

• Advance research progress on BCI by contributing to the tasks listed above.
• Disseminate results through scientific publications in journals and conferences.
• Limited teaching activity of 2h per week.

• Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cognitive Science, or related disciplines.

• Proven academic track record via peer-reviewed publications in Brain-Computer Interfaces and related areas such as Neuroscience, Machine Learning, and Human-Computer Interaction.

• Language: Good commandment of English is a must.

• Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract 24 Month - extendable if possible

• Work Hours: Full Time 40.0 Hours per Week
