The post is based in central Cambridge and is a fixed-term position for which funds are available for 3 years in the first instance. The position is available from 17th January 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Dr Amy L Milton's Memories in Neuropsychiatric Disorders (MiND) lab in the Department of Psychology, University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will conduct research investigating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)-like checking in a rodent analogue task, in a collaborative project (with Dr Sharon Morein-Zamir at Anglia Ruskin University) that will also provide an opportunity for training in human participant research.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting rodent behavioural experiments, statistical analyses of the data, and preparation of the research for publication. Expertise in rodent behavioural work is essential; it is highly desirable that the appointee will have experience of rodent behavioural testing using operant equipment, and will hold a valid UK Home Office Personal Licence for rodent research.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in a discipline such as behavioural neuroscience or psychology. Applications will be considered if a candidate is currently completing their PhD and has their viva examination scheduled within the next few weeks. There is an expectation that the candidate will have passed before taking up the post, ideally no later than the end of 2021.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful
candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal
records) check, a health assessment and an enhanced security check. If
not held already, the successful candidate will also need to undertake
training for a UK Home Office Personal Licence.
