We are seeking to appoint a lecturer/senior lecturer with teaching and/or professional practice experience in Business Psychology or Occupational Psychology. This is a part time role that would be ideal for someone wishing to balance an academic role with professional practice.

Psychology at the University of Worcester has a long-standing history, with a thriving BPS accredited suite of BSc Psychology courses running since 1994 and an MSc course in Occupational Psychology running since 2007. The School has an already impressive portfolio of undergraduate courses including Single Honours Psychology and  Criminology, as well as named awards in Business, Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, Health, and Sport and Exercise Psychology. Our postgraduate courses include Business and Occupational Psychology, Counselling, EMDR Therapy and Understanding Domestic and Sexual Violence. We currently partner with the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) to deliver our MSc Business Psychology course.

The School comprises two departments; Performance, Health and Wellbeing, and Violence Prevention, Trauma and Criminology, and is underpinned by a commitment to deliver a forward-thinking, dynamic, creative community dedicated to personal growth and professional development in the fields of psychology and criminology. This role sits within the department of Performance, Health and Wellbeing. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a collaborative and supportive team of colleagues in our teaching of Psychology with a specialism in occupational or business psychology. Further information about our staff profiles and research areas show our depth and breadth of experience of applied psychology. Our school holds strong values of professionalism, respect and inclusivity and we are looking for a colleague who shares our vision and values to join us and contribute to our-going success.

The successful applicant will act as a personal academic tutor (PAT), research project supervisor to undergraduate students, and as a dissertation supervisor to postgraduate students. The successful applicant will support our delivery of MSc Business Psychology with our international partners including the delivery of teaching overseas as appropriate. In addition, there is an expectation to undertake course leadership roles as opportunities arise.

You will have a background in Business Psychology or Occupational Psychology practice, teaching or research. Your teaching or training approach will be flexible, student-centred and research or practice-inspired. You will join a collegiate and growing team with a strong sense of purpose and a firm commitment to making a difference for all our stakeholders. As the role will also require you to develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, including coordinating an employers’ forum, you will need a high level of inter-personal skill, and personal effectiveness to promote a high-quality experience for all our stakeholders. You will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development, scholarly engagement and to interprofessional and international perspectives.
