Research Associate (Postdoc) on Distributed Ledger Technologies

Successful candidates will join a young, strong and motivated FINATRAX Research Group. The research group conducts research on the application and the impact of digital technologies like DLT/Blockchain, Digital Identities, Machine Learning/AI, and IoT/5G on organisations in the private or public sector. By doing so, it builds bridges between business research and information systems engineering. The group consists of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers who come from different disciplines (e.g., policy, business, technology) and pursue first-rate research on the design and impact of information systems.

Successful candidates will perform the following tasks:

• Carrying out research in the predefined areas
•

• Disseminating results through scientific publications

• Communicating and working with stakeholders in government (ministries, regulators, government-run start-up incubators) and companies in the private sector

• Preparing research proposals to attract industry partnerships as well as national and European grant projects

• Managing research projects and preparing project deliverables

• Providing guidance to PhD and master students

Qualification: The candidate should possess a PhD degree or equivalent in Computer Science Information Systems (Engineering), FinTech, Mathematics, Physics, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.

Knowledge and Experience:

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge and/or experience in:

• Technical components (such as public key infrastructures, consensus mechanisms, etc.) of Distributed Ledger Technology (Blockchain) 
  

• Experience in designing, implementing, and testing software components 
  

• At least one of the following programming languages;
  

• Python/C++/Java/Javascript/Go/Rust

• Research method(s)

For collaboration within the group, the candidate should be open to other technologies, such as Machine Learning/AI, Digital Identities, or IoT/5G or applications of DLT in other areas, such as financial services, energy, mobility, or public administration.

Language Skills:Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Knowledge of either French, German or Luxembourgish will be appreciated but are not a requirement to apply.
