Postdoc

The Sugden Lab at the University of Wisconsin—Madison is seeking a post-Doctoral Fellow to work with us to elucidate the mechanisms of lymphomagenesis mediated by the human tumor viruses, Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) and Kaposi's Sarcoma Herpes Virus (KSHV). We have carried out extensive genetic analyses with CRISPR/Cas9 of EBV-caused lymphomas (reviewed in Hutcheson et al. Front Cell Infect Microbiol. 2021) and developed the first model of human lymphoma caused by both EBV and KSHV (Faure et al. PNAS, 2019).

We would like to attract a Post-Doctoral Fellow to build on this work. Support will be provided in learning new scientific techniques to address this research; however, the ideal candidate should have a clear desire to learn. We are experienced in virology, cell culture, and the molecular biology of nucleic acids. If you can add to these strengths and viral oncology sounds intriguing to you, please contact Bill Sugden ([email protected]) at McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research and include your CV and a cover letter describing your research background and interests. The University of Wisconsin is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer.

The University of Wisconsin—Madison offers cutting-edge research in tumor virology and is home to exceptional cancer biology and molecular virology researchers among diverse departments.
