About this Event

This workshop is led by Nick Bibby, Director of the Scottish Policy and Research Exchange Network.

We will explore topics including:

  • How to communicate interdisciplinary research findings
  • What kinds of data and evidence are valuable for policy-makers
  • Presenting yourself as an interdisciplinary expert
  • Engaging with different committees and areas of policy as an interdisciplinary researcher

About the trainer:

Nick Bibby is the Director of the SPRE. Nick is a policy engagement professional with a background in journalism and higher education. He helped establish SPRE and was appointed as the project’s first director at the beginning of 2019.

The Scottish Policy and Research Exchange supports researchers and officials as they seek smart solutions to policy challenges. It is a network of professionals working together to deliver evidence-informed policy in practice.

About the organiser:

Launched in 2018, the Interdisciplinary Research Network at the University of Stirling was set up by PhD students doing interdisciplinary research. The aims of our group are to build a support network, share resources across faculties, promote a research culture of collaboration and create events and training tailored around our needs as interdisciplinary researchers.

This workshop is part of a week long series of events. Check out the full programme of events here.

The Interdisciplinary Symposium is supported by the Stirling Fund.
