As the UK prepares to host the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), the government is outlining its ambitions for the domestic climate and environment policy agenda. Collaboration across the sectors will be vital to ensuring that the framework put in place is robust; utilising evidence-based targets, while drawing from both industry insights and academic research.

WIG is delighted to invite you to hear from a cross-sector panel of experts to discuss how the expertise coming out of the UK's academic institutions can be best integrated into policymaking and industry developments, during this pivotal year and moving forward.

By joining you will:

  • Gain an understanding of how academia can be integrated with policy and decision-making across the public and private sectors.
  • Hear about the work of the COP26 Universities Network, and how they are working to ensure climate policies across the world remain on track for net-zero by 2050.
  • Learn how the UK can utilise COP26 to enhance research and innovation around the UK's leading green industrial sector.
