Post-doctoral Research Fellow

Applications are currently being accepted for a postdoctoral fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Khashayar Vakili at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Our research focuses on liver cancer biology by analyzing patient-derived tumors and developing in vitro models with a focus on translational studies. Recent efforts have been focused on developing a drug screening platform for targeting DNAJB1-PRKACA in fibrolamellar carcinoma.

The Department of Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital is one of the largest pediatric surgery programs in the world. We’re constantly engaged in clinical research designed to come up with new strategies for diagnosis and treatment.  By joining the Vakili lab, you will have the opportunity to publish manuscripts, abstracts, and present your research at national conferences. Through our relationship with Harvard, research staff will have access to multiple resources offered by the university.

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree with a strong background in advanced molecular biology, gene editing, cloning, 3D cell culture techniques, as well as an in-depth understanding of cancer biology. Candidates must be self-motivated and possess strong communication/organizational skills along with a collaborative attitude. A strong record of scientific achievement is strongly preferred.
