An introduction to sensory integration, attachment and trauma.

About this event

This short introductory course is designed to help adoptive parents understand:

• the senses and how we all, parents and children, process sensory information;
• how developmental trauma impacts the development of the nervous system and therefore sensory processing;
• and help to reframe some negative behaviours and look into some of the difficulties children and young people might experience.

This training will be delivered by an occupational therapist and adoptive parent and is suitable for adoptive parents, prospective adoptive parents, foster and kinship carers.

Adoptive parents who are resident in or adopted through Scottish Borders, East Lothian, Midlothian or Glasgow Councils may be entitled to a free ticket. Please email [email protected] or contact your council social work department.
