With a dynamic line up of leading thinkers and
interactive workshops, the SI is designed to take your research to the
next level.
If you are currently a PhD/Doctoral researcher or postgraduate student and are racialised as black/brown/person of colour this event is an amazing opportunity to learn more about how to do research in liberatory ways. You'll be introduced to creative and decolonised methodologies that expand the possibilities of how to research the issues that matter to you. If you are an undergraduate student considering a postgraduate degree, this event is also an excellent opportunity to meet faculty on the cutting edge of creative and decolonised research. Featuring a dynamic line up of leading thinkers and academics the Summer Institute's interactive workshops and talks are designed to take your research to the next level and enhance your personal research profile.
The Summer Institute is being run by the Ebony Initiative, a new programme launched in October 2020 by SOAS, University of London. The EI, is a unique programme that aims to nurture the development of more Black scholars and decolonised knowledge production at SOAS and in the UK more broadly. The EI works to inspire and encourage Black students from African and Afro-diaspora communities in the UK to pursue postgraduate education and research careers.
