This webinar will showcase the diverse career pathways within
pre-hospital care. Whilst the advent of the medical subspecialty has
been at the forefront of pre-hospital care in recent years, the vast
majority of this vital role is still delivered by non-medical healthcare
professionals and volunteers.
The Faculty of Pre-hospital Care of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh offers multi-professional access to its examinations and accreditation and our speakers give us insight into their roles and career pathways.
Aims
To showcase the careers and postgraduate examinations in pre-hospital care via nursing, paramedic, voluntary sector and allied health professionals. This will include insight into the immediate care, transfer & retrieval and unscheduled medical care examinations and accreditation levels that are open to non-medical personnel.
Knowledge of other roles and service delivery is also part of the essential knowledge and curriculum for PHEM trainees and other medical professionals, such as Emergency Medicine and General Practice.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar participants should be able to appreciate the diverse scope of practice in pre-hospital care and the routes to a career in this multi-professional specialty.
