We've invited RSEs from different domains to demo a piece of software they've written. These will be followed by a panel discussion.
About this event
RSE career stages: from junior to group lead
In what
capacity can you work as an RSE? What are opportunities for growth? On
International Women's Day 2022, we welcome three female RSEs in
different stages of their RSE career. They will all demo a piece of
software they've built. This will be followed by a panel discussion. The
panel discussion will focus on these women's experience as an RSE in
the Netherlands.
Marianne de Heer Kloots is a
PhD candidate at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation of
the University of Amsterdam. She studies language processing in humans
and machines, using neural network models and cognitive data from
neuroimaging studies.
Candace Makeda Moore is an RSE at the Netherlands eScience Center. She is a medical doctor and computer programmer, passionate about using her skills in data analytics to improve patient outcomes.
Martine de Vos is
coordinator of the Research Engineering team at Utrecht University. She
supports Utrecht University researchers in applying digital technology
in their research. The research engineering team helps researchers with
technological challenges in areas such as data processing and computing,
but also advises on methodological issues.
Alejandra Hernández Segura (panel member) is a bioinformatician at the National Institute of Public Health and Environment (RIVM) in The Netherlands. She has experience in data analysis (especially but not limited to genomics data), pipeline development, data engineering and data visualization.
