A virtual writing retreat for postgraduate researchers at the University of Dundee
About this event
The writing retreat provides an opportunity for researchers to take time out from their day to day work and focus entirely on a writing project of their choice. All participants will work individually throughout the day, coming together for short sessions at the beginning, middle and end of the day to discuss writing, productivity and challenges. This group motivation has been shown to be highly effective for academic writing.
This month's full-day workshop will be facilitated by Hailey Austin and Amira Abougazia.
09:30 – 10:00 Live session – writing productivity & goal setting (on Teams)
10:00 – 12:30 Individual writing time (offline)
12:30 - 13:30 Lunch break
13:30 – 14:00 Live session - progress & discussion (on Teams)
14:00 – 16:00 Individual writing time (offline)
16:00 – 16:30 Live session - reflection & discussion (on Teams)
There will be three short live sessions during the day via Teams and participants are encouraged to work on their own writing projects between these sessions (the individual writing time sessions will not be on Teams). All participants are required to have a specific writing project of their own to work on such as a journal article, thesis chapter(s), book chapter or funding proposal.
Please note that this event is only open to postgraduate researchers at the University of Dundee.
