Today our panellists will be discussing multiculturalism in academia as a workplace.
Please join us in discussing Multiculturality in Academia on Wednesday 22 September 2021, at 17.00-18.30 EEST/16.00-17.30 CEST
Universities in the Nordic Countries offer attractive career opportunities to many international researchers at the top of their fields. However, once in the country, international employees often face a multitude of issues with advancing in their careers or getting similar opportunities as their domestically-born counterparts.
Our panel will discuss these issues and what can be done to improve things. Our panelists represent different universities with different kinds of backgrounds, including:
Kalypso Filippou (PhD)- University Lecturer at the Department of Teacher Education, University of Turku. Co-founder / Vice-chair, EmJoy (Embrace Joy in Education).
Ece Kural - PhD in International Relations, Stockholm University. CEO & Co-Founder, Scrintal.
Geet Raju - Doctoral Candidate, Aalto University. Data Scientist, Suomen Palloliitto.
Kirsi Korhonen - HEI Life Project Manager, University of Helsinki
And more to come.
The panel will be moderated by Nordic Inclusify's Community Manager, Sevcan Hakyemez-Paul (PhD), University Teacher at the University of Turku.
