Newly appointed PGR Reps should complete this training at the next opportunity following their appointment.
About this event
Becoming a PGR Rep can be very rewarding as you work with your
fellow students to raise their issues, support communication networks,
and make sure everyone knows about events and opportunities.
Being
a Rep will also give you an excellent insight into the processes and
policies of the University. You will meet other Reps from every Faculty
on the Super Rep Group, and work with academics on the Faculty Research
Degree Committee. In this session, we will
introduce you to the way in which you can make sure PGR student issues
and ideas are heard, and highlight the main University support services
that are available. How to gather feedback and make your point in
meetings will be discussed, and we will look at the range of
transferable skills you can pick up in this role. Every year, things
change for the better because of student feedback, and this is an
opportunity to make a difference. This session is a collaboration between the University of Portsmouth Student Union and the Graduate School.Presenters:Rebecca Adams, Student Focus Lead, UPSUTom Radbourne, Student Focus Coordinator, UPSUVincent Adams, Doctoral Development Manager, Graduate SchoolThis
